Behavioral Data Scientist
Profile is expanding our capabilities at the intersection of behavioral science and artificial intelligence. We're looking for a behavioral scientist passionate about applying rigorous behavioral methodologies to AI-powered products. This is a foundational hire and you'll have significant influence over our direction in this space.
Location
This position offers remote flexibility, with a preference for candidates based in the EST or CST time zones.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and formalize behavioral frameworks for understanding human communication patterns in conversational contexts
- Design and lead research studies including participant recruitment, protocol design, data collection, and analysis
- Build and validate labeled datasets for use in AI and machine learning applications
- Collaborate closely with engineering to translate behavioral concepts into structured data and product logic
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for behavioral accuracy and quality
- Contribute to published research and thought leadership that positions Profile at the forefront of behavioral intelligence
- Continuously refine methodologies based on real-world usage data and emerging research
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in behavioral science, industrial-organizational psychology, personality psychology, psychometrics, or a related field
- 3+ years of applied experience in behavioral assessment, psychometric instrument development, or personality research
- Strong understanding of behavioral frameworks such as DISC, Big Five, or similar models
- Demonstrated experience applying behavioral or psychological research to NLP, AI/ML, or computational linguistics
- Experience designing and conducting human subjects research
- Confidence with statistical analysis and dataset evaluation
- Ability to translate complex behavioral concepts into clear, actionable language for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent writing skills for both academic and general audiences
- Familiarity with coaching, leadership development, or talent assessment contexts is a plus
